A New Chapter at 57: Aaron’s Story

At age 56, Aaron came to Safer Foundation Quad Cities’ Employment Services Program facing challenges that made stability feel out of reach. He was navigating unstable housing, a history of substance use, and no reliable transportation.

But Aaron was determined to turn his life around. With the support of Safer’s employment team, he received the guidance, encouragement, and resources he needed to move forward. Step by step, he began rebuilding his life.

Now, nearly a year later, Aaron’s transformation is nothing short of inspiring. He reached his 180-day job retention milestone, achieved financial independence, and secured stable housing. He has also regained his confidence and sense of purpose.

“Without Safer Foundation, I wouldn’t have gotten a job or been successful in life,” Aaron shared.

Maria, the Employment Specialist who worked closely with him, reflected on his journey:
“I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Aaron and help him on his path. Not all participants, especially someone beginning at Aaron’s age, are able to embrace everything Safer has to offer. Aaron made the most of every opportunity, and we couldn’t be more proud.”

Aaron’s story is a powerful reminder that it is never too late to start again. With the right support, stability and success are possible at any stage of life.

At Safer Foundation, we provide more than just employment support. Our team connects participants with resources for housing, transportation, and other essentials that make long-term success possible.

If you are ready to take the first step toward your own success story, Safer Foundation is here to help.
