Safer Foundation provides educational programming for our clients, many of whom have not completed high school. Safer Foundation’s education services help clients become more marketable when searching for jobs.
High School Equivalency Programming
Safer’s innovative educational programs increase literacy and basic comprehension skills to help clients obtain their High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED). Safer is an official HSED testing site for the State of Illinois.
A key component of Safer’s programming is its weekly job readiness class. Many of Safer’s clients lack the skills necessary to be competitive on the job market. These skills include interviewing, workplace etiquette and the ability to appropriately address their backgrounds. This educational model encourages clients to network with each other and their instructors to search for and obtain employment.
