Employment Services for Employers

The Safer Foundation’s Employment Services Division considers the employers who hire Safer’s employment-ready clients as customers. Our philosophy is that services must be a win-win situation for both the employer and the client. For that to be the case, employers must receive value from Safer’s employment services. And according to the more than 200 employer partners we currently work with, they do.

The value to employers comes from the Safer Foundation’s focus on meeting employers’ business objectives and needs. This is accomplished through the careful pre-screening services provided by Safer’s Employment Specialists, the support provided to employers by Safer staff after a Safer candidate is placed in a job, and in the cost-effective services provided to employers who hire Safer’s candidates.

Employers often expend considerable resources--either in-house or through employment agencies in finding the right people to fill those sometimes difficult-to-fill positions. By working with the Safer Foundation employers receive qualified referrals and a range of support services-all at no charge to them.

The Safer Foundation measures the success of its employment services by measuring how long the employee remains employed. This is a good proxy for how well the employee is adjusting to the demands of a productive and responsible lifestyle.

For individuals with a criminal record, the first thirty days on a job is a particularly critical period of transition. More than 40% of Safer’s employment services clients remain employed after six months. And with each month that an individual retains employment, their likelihood of returning to prison decreases.
