Intensive Case Management

Research and experience has shown that persons with multiple barriers to employment benefit from long-term support and advice. The Safer Foundation has Intensive Case Managers who work closely with clients to help them access additional training programs and build and actualize their career path.

The purpose of intensive case management is to promote client change and encourage client control. The case manager acts as coach, personal trainer and counselor; he or she is not there to "rescue" clients nor justify inappropriate behavior. Since each client has differing needs, personalities and motivations, the approach to the client, as well as the interventions provided are individualized.

The case manager is responsible for continually assessing and referring his or her client to needed Safer or externally provided services. The case manager remains with the client for approximately two years.
