Direct Services

For more than 30 years the Safer Foundation has provided a range of direct services to more than 40,000 individuals with a criminal record to support their return to the community as law-abiding, productive members.

The Safer Foundation's philosophy of service is based on respect for the individual and tailoring services to best meet individual needs. The agency incorporates a cognitive approach to behavioral change so that individuals with a criminal record can better understand and incorporate positive attitudes and improved decision-making abilities into their daily lives.

At their first appointment clients meet with an intake counselor who conducts a personal assessment resulting in a client-specific plan of action that serves to direct the client to appropriate services, i.e., employment services, education programs, intensive case management and/or supportive services.

Today, the Safer Foundation is recognized as a national leader in programs focusing on employment and community reentry for individuals with a criminal record.
