David Gianfrancesco

Safer Foundation - David Gianfrancesco

Associate Vice President, Model Development

"Education and employment are two of the most necessary elements needed to survive in today’s changing world, but too many people are left behind; with few options. It is my personal mission to give them options and create a better path for those left behind, helping them to become whole again, and have the opportunity to realize their dreams."

David Gianfrancesco moved to Chicago in 2007, from his home town Perth, Western Australia, where he began his professional career. David has over 20 years of international experience in government, workforce and business development, in the areas of public health, medical recruitment, and more recently, criminal justice.

David became Director of Workforce Development at Safer Foundation, a Chicago Illinois based organization, in 2008. Safer Foundation is one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of employment placement and job readiness training exclusively targeting people with criminal records. In this role he oversaw employment services and job placement of individuals with criminal records. In 2014 he was named Associate Vice President of Model Development at Safer, where he is responsible for research, design, fund development and management through implementation phase, of new model programs such as Safer’s Demand Skills Collaborative, which aims to train individuals for high demand employment.

David has presented on emerging workforce issues at the International Community Corrections Association conference, as a panel member at Safer Foundation’s annual CARRE conference, and Heartland Alliance’s: A Nation that Works conference. He has been published in business text, travelled extensively internationally for workforce development assignments, and works closely with Safer’s employer base and partners, including collaborating with businesses and training organizations on demand driven, people focused workforce solutions.
